Research in mechanical linguistics in the United States

Abstract

The article reviews the research work conducted on mechanical linguistics in the United States. It covers the most important fields of linguistics: lexicology, statistical linguistics, mechanical translation, and linguistic problems connected with research in documentation. A brief survey and evaluation of the results achieved in these fields are given.
