Digitisation trends in the European Union

Abstract

The European Commission operates an expert group of member states dealing with digitisation and digital preservation. The papers read at last year’s meetings reflect major trends in the field concerned. Having described how the expert group operates the article explores themes having received special attention in recent years (copyright, creative reuse of content, Web 2.0 technologies, 3D digitisation, financing, Europeana).
