Classification of company information systems in Hungary

Abstract

In the establishment of markét economy and information society in Hungary the information systems that process and store business data in retrievable forms play key roles. Company information systems discussed and classified by the author have special position. Basic, law, marketing, classified and other types of corporate data-bases and their characteristics are described as well as those of @ratíng services. The evolution of number of companies from the change of the country's political structure through to the present is analyzed, based on two official company regis-ters in Hungary, that of the Ministry of Justice and the Central Statistical Office. The data contents and company type distribution in both registers are presented. Users who need these services are assisted by tables describing services of enterprises collecting, processing, classifying and mak-ing online available information on companies in Hungary.
